Silicone Sponge Gaskets

A.J. Rubber & Sponge Ltd.’s line of non-metallic custom sponge and foam gaskets and seals includes silicone sponge gaskets. Our silicone sponge gaskets are produced from uncured silicone gum which expands to a predetermined size by means of a specialized manufacturing process. Sometimes referred to as “expanded silicone”, this type of material is of a closed cell nature, meaning that its cells are highly effective at sealing in gas and moisture.

Our silicone sponge gaskets are available in thicknesses between 1/16 to 2 inches, are very soft compared to solid silicone gaskets, and provide superior water sealing abilities under numerous applications. The density of A.J. Rubber & Sponge Ltd.’s silicone sponge gaskets is typically defined by the compression force of deflection in a PSI range compressed by 25% (a range of 2 to 5 PSI compression force of deflection is rated as soft, whereas a range of 14 to 20 PSI is rated as hard).
